Season

The best seasons falls into two categories to visit the eastern Himalayan region i.e.

  1. March to the middle of June
  2. Last week of September to second week of December

Monsoon: During June, July, August and September.
Snowfall: During December and January in the high mountain region.

Things to be brought

1 Rain coat or umbrella
2 Pocket light with extra batteries
3 Shoes: sport shoes applicable for low altitude treks (below 2200 m.) except in mid winter: December – January. Trekking or heavy mountaineering shoes applicable for high altitude treks and climbing treks (above 220 m.).
4 Personal clothing: jacket, jumper and trousers, down jacket and additional clothing applicable for high altitude trek.
5 Water bottle
6 Sunglasses
7 Personal medicines
8 Small rucksack for personal use
9 Passport size photographs
10 Travel insurance to be obtained (before departure from home)
